Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) is back in 2023 and is bigger and better than ever! This nine-day festival of games will take place from 30 September to 8 October, and it's sure to have something for everyone, from casual gamers to industry professionals.

Here are some of the highlights of MIGW 2023:

  • Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) will be from 2nd - 4th October and is Australia’s premier professional development and networking event for the game development industry, focused on up-skilling and connecting the Australian sector via education, knowledge sharing and the provision of extended personal and business networks.
  • The Australian Games Developer Awards held on 4th October are the most anticipated awards ceremony for the Australian games industry. The awards will celebrate the best games developed in Australia in the past year and the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams in the industry.
  • Games for Change APAC is a conference and networking event for game developers and industry professionals focused on using games for education, healthcare, and social impact. This year we will see the first G4C APAC interactive showcase on the 4th of October, showing some of the best transformational games developed in the region.
  • PAX Aus is Australia's largest gaming convention. The event will feature the latest AAA releases, indie games, tournaments, cosplay contests, and other activities.

In addition to these major events, MIGW will feature several smaller events and activities, such as the RMIT Games Day, MIGW at the Table and Freeplay Parallels.

MIGW is an excellent opportunity to celebrate games' artistic and entertaining contributions and learn more about the broader industry. Whether you're a casual gamer or an industry professional, there's something for everyone. You can check the entire week’s schedule at the official website -
